We’ve reached the halfway point of “Man from the Stars” and the show continues to astound viewers. Episodes 9 and 10 focus largely on present day events, exploring the topics of love, money (or lack there of), and sinister plots. Song Yi must confront her growing feelings for Min Joon, while at the same time, Min Joon already worries about what consequences his future departure will have on Song Yi. Jae Kyung continues with his murderous plans, but Min Joon isn’t content with letting Jae Kyung have his way. Be ready for some dramatic confrontations!
The Consequences of Kissing Song Yi
Min Joon spends the first half of Episode 9 recovering from an extremely high fever. Turns out he’s not immune to human saliva, in fact, it makes him extremely sick. He may have initiated the kiss, but I have a feeling he’ll be thinking twice before leaning in for another

The first episode of KBS’ “Age of Feelings” seems to have caused a shift in rankings for Wednesday and Thursday night drama ratings.
On January 15, “Age of Feelings” aired its first episode, and it recorded a rating of 7.8%. With hallyu star Kim Hyun Joong showing his tough and charismatic fighting skills, the new KBS drama can expect to garner more fans. With two years of planning and about 14.1 million USD invested to the drama production, “Age of Feeling” plans to showcase many talented actors through its interesting story plot.
However, the KBS drama could not beat the widely popular SBS drama that aired during the same time slot. SBS’ “Man from the Stars’” episode 9 brought in a viewership rating of 23.1%, solidifying its large number of viewers

The video features all five guys navigating a strange, topsy-turvy dream world while chasing a faceless girl in a painting through rooms where time and gravity have no meaning

“Empress Ki” – Episode 19 - 20 Recap by Couch-Kimchi:
I was going insane for new episodes of Empress Ki (and waiting for subs) to the point that I started to forget what this drama was about. (LOL) The award shows were nice, it was fun seeing our cast sitting together, laughing and talking. And it was really nice to see them win! But I wanted to get back to the show, I was up very early to catch both episodes live. Let’s talk about what happened!
The first of our love-triangle to Ki’s rescue is Wang Yoo. He stops Ki-Se and starts to carry her out only to be confronted with Ta Hwan, who demands he put Ki down. When Ta Hwan is informed that Wang Yoo not only has El Terror’s permission but that Ki has been released from servitude, he’s angry and shocked. I loved this because like many of you, I’m tired of seeing Ki serve tea

Last year, tvN scored a smash hit with “Reply 1997,” transporting us to a much simpler decade infused with nostalgia, growing pains, 90s pop culture and fan girls. The drama premiered with little hype, but gained recognition through word of mouth, becoming a sensation and breaking the 6% ratings barrier, considered to be high for a cable drama, and that’s not even counting the rebroadcasts. In fact, Episodes 15 and 16 of “Reply 1997” was broadcast on tvN, Olive, Mnet, OCN, Onstyle and Ongamenet simultaneously. Set in 1997 Busan, “Reply 1997″ was the coming-of-age story of a group of high schoolers who grow through their own share of teenage troubles

Dramas that deal with the supernatural
We think it"s fairly safe to say that 2012 was pretty saturated with time traveling, particularly between the modern era and something more like the Chosun Dynasty
American writer Kate DiCamillo’s “The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane” recently sold over 30,000 copies.
The book was first published in 2009, and was quickly forgotten without receiving much interest. However, it’s as if the book has sprouted wings; it’s selling like crazy. This is because of its appearance in the currently very hot SBS drama, “Man From the Stars.”
In the drama, which is about the fateful love story of 400-year-old alien Do Min Joon (Kim Soo Hyun) and top star Chun Song Yi (Jun Ji Hyun), Do Min Joon is often seen reading books, and they have become more than just simple props.
The lines from the book fantastically fall in line with the innocent heart of Do Min Joon, and give his story another level of wholeness, as well as an additional element of foreshadowing in the drama
As expected, IU’s “Friday” becomes our new No. 1 song this week. Despite having no promotions, this song won all three TV network music show last week, and also tops Billboard Korea. As a result, “Friday” moves up six spots and easily won this week with a high score. Congratulations to IU.
Moving up seven spots to a distant second is veteran R&B quartet Brown Eyed Soul. Their song “You” have a strong showing in GAON and Billboard Korea, and also in the top five in TV Network rankings.
There are four new songs in the top 10 this week. Ballad singer Zi-A moves up 24 big spots to No. 4 with her latest hit “I Knew It.” This song is a preview single of Zi-A’s upcoming album which will be released later this month. It is a guitar and string driven sad ballad
Actress Kim So Yeon and rookie Wang Ji Won put on school uniforms for tvN Monday-Tuesday drama “I Need Romance Season 3.”
Cable network tvN released stills of the two actresses in school uniform ahead of the premiere of “I Need Romance 3” on January 13.
Kim So Yeon and Wang Ji Won appear wearing the same school uniform, but each give off their individual feel. Kim So Yeon looks neat wearing a headband and her long hair tied up into two ponytails, her necktie fastened tightly and her school jacket buttoned up, looking demure and refined. She’s also got glasses on, making her look slightly more studious than Wang Ji Won.
On the flip side, Wang Ji Won has her hair loose, and her necktie fastened loosely, smiling brightly like a lively high schooler
With the wide variety of genres in Korean drama, it seems as if the main ingredient to success is adding a touch of mystery. Recently, the similarities between beloved Korean dramas seem to be that mystery probes the minds of drama viewers.
SBS‘ “Man from the Star” is gaining immense popularity not only because of the star studded cast, but also because of the fun in untangling the mysteries surrounding the characters. As the drama follows Do Min Joon (Kim Soo Hyun), an alien who crash landed on Earth 400 years ago, the mysteries surrounding the identity of Chan Song (Jeon Ji Hyun), the death of actress Han Yoo Ra (Yoo In Young), and the relevance with sociopath Lee Jae Kyung (Shin Sung Rok) is thrilling and addicting
SBS series “Love From Star” has scooped up the fourth crown on Wednesday and Thursday TV charts.
The Kim Soo-hyun and Jun Ji-hyun starrer has stood atop the AGB Nielsen Media Research (Nielsen Korea) chart, drawing in an average of 24.3 percent on January 8 and 9, the chart showed on Wednesday.
Breaking its best ratings record every week, the fantasy romance story has been grabbing more and more viewers with its interesting love story across the past and the present of top Hallyu star Cheon Song-I (Jun) and a man from outer space Do Min-jun (Kim).
At the number two place is MBC’s period-set drama “Miss Korea,” which grabbed in an average viewership of 8.0 percent, a drop of 1.2 percent from last week’s score.
KBS’s drama “Bel Ami,” starring Jang Keun-suk and IU, closed its curtain at the bottom of the chart after drawing in disappointing 3
Yay, finally a teaser longer than thirty seconds. The third season of I Need Romance sets sail this coming Monday on tvN, and the six-minute highlight teaser below gives us a taste of the characters and chemistry to come. It’s probably more than needs to be teased at this point, in that it covers likely most of what we’ll see in the opening episodes (so maybe steer clear if you’re extra spoiler-phobic), but on the upside we get to see Kim So-yeon and Sung Joon get awfully close.
The teaser starts out with a parade of kisses and the advice that you have to kiss to know how you feel. Kim So-yeon narrates: “A woman knows the moment of the kiss: Soon, he will come close.” We see her being cool-headed in the workplace along with her team of best friends (Yoon Seung-ah, Park Hyo-joo, Park Yoo-hwan) and bragging in front of her sunbae Namgoong Min
Actor/singer Kim Hyun Joong recently revealed his determination to shed his ‘flower boy’ image.
On January 9, at a press conference for KBS’s upcoming drama “Age of Feeling,” Kim Hyun Joong said, “Previously, my ‘flower boy’ image really stood out, but in this drama, I really went for a more macho look. I feel like I’m learning about masculinity when I’m filming. I’m 29, and I think I’m becoming more mature.”
Kim Hyun Joong plays the fierce fighter Shin Jung Tae, known for his exceptional speed and agility.
“Age of feeling” is a new romantic noir that tells the story of Korean, Chinese, and Japanese ‘romantic fists’ in the 1930s, shot on a grand scale with intricate action. The first episode will air on January 15, and will follow the end of “Beautiful Man,” which seems fitting!
