How could we possibly talk about 2013 and leave EXO out? (On a side note: I keep using this picture for my EXO articles because I really like it for some reason.) When EXO debuted in 2012 with "MAMA", they had a lot of fangirls crying at their awesomeness. But then as 2012 rolled on and on, and then 2012 turned to 2013, EXO seemed to simply fade in the background with next-to-zero promotions

According to Newsen on January 13, Madam Tussaud’s Museum of Hong Kong revealed that they have a wax figure of Lee Min Ho. His wax figure will be on display in the museum until March 31.
Lee Min Ho began his acting career in 2006 but did not skyrocket to fame until 2009, when he starred as Gu Jun Pyo in KBS 2’s hit drama “Boys Over Flowers.” He showed off his charisma and proved that he was a top male actor shortly after in the action drama “City Hunter.” In his most recent drama, SBS’ “The Heirs,” Lee Min Ho received five awards and has been recognized as a talented star.
He is the only Korean celebrity to currently have a wax figure in Hong Kong’s museum. The exhibition manager said, “We are happy to introduce famous Korean actor Lee Min Ho as a new addition to the display

“Man from the Stars” continues to soar with high ratings, intriguing plot lines, and lovably flawed characters. Romantic feelings begin to develop between our lead characters, especially within the stoic Do Min Joon. Chun Song Yi faces increasing backlash for her rival’s death, but at least Min Joon never seems too far away to help. Flashbacks are beautifully interwoven with the present day events, providing a satisfying context for Min Joon and Song Yi’s fated relationship. Not only do the main characters shine, but the supporting cast and subplots combine to make a captivating story that leaves viewers on the edge of their seats.

On December 26, several Chinese publications reported that a movie/television production company in China has already bought publication rights to “The Heirs” and will soon start filming. The drama is set to begin filming in January, and will be a collaboration between Chinese producer Li Shao Hong and Korean director Oh Sang Won. The actors who will follow-up Lee Min Ho, Park Shin Hye, and Kim Woo Bin have not yet been determined.
SBS’s “The Heirs” recently aired its final episode on December 20, after a hugely successful run for the drama as well as its main actors.
This past November, “The Heirs” production company Hwa & Dam Pictures revealed that they signed a foreign production contract for the highest price in Korean drama history, and that the interest for “The Heirs” is crazy in not only Korea, but abroad, as well
The Chinese version of The Heirs is soon to come out.
According to Chinese press, a drama production company in China has finalized its decision to remake the SBS’s hit drama The Heirs and is in the process of putting together a drama production team.
The casting has not been finalized yet, and fans have been gathering their attention on who will take the lead roles in the Chinese version of The Heirs.
It has been reported that filming will start in January.
There have been several cases where Korean dramas were re-made in China, but it is an unusual occasion for a drama to be re-made within a month from the time it ended, surprising many in both Korea and China.
The decision to remake The Heirs is reported to be largely due to the drama’s popularity on streaming websites

A flashback to Joseon takes us to the aftermath of doppelganger Yi-hwa’s kidnapping. She asks him a string of questions about his identity, offering that she believes in other life forms (whether grim reapers or folk-tale creatures), and therefore he can be honest about his origins. Through it all, Min-joon just looks at her with an enigmatic smile.
Song-yi invites Min-joon home with her, wanting to take care of him in exchange for him saving her life, and leads the way
These little tidbits are always fun. Did you know that the world of “The Heirs” crosses over in the world of “Man from the Stars“?
The assistant PD of the currently airing SBS drama, “Man from the Stars,” revealed that the writer of drama, Park Ji Eun, had a little fun while writing the script. Park Ji Eun, who enjoys adding little parodies inside of her work, named a entertainment agency trying to scout Jun Ji Hyun‘s character, Chun Song Yi, as Jeguk. Chun Song Yi’s mom brags to her friends, “Jeguk and Phantom call so many times!” Viewers of “The Heirs” will recognize that name as that of the conglomerate Kim Tan’s (Lee Min Ho) family runs. Jeguk Entertainment is one of the 11 subsidiaries of the Jeguk Group.
Park Ji Eun also referenced Kim Soo Hyun‘s movie “Secretly and Greatly” when she had Jun Ji Hyun’s character say to Do Min Joon (played by Kim Soo Hyun), “How do you not know me? Are you from North Korea?” In “Secretly and Greatly,” Kim Soo Hyun played a North Korean spy sent to South Korea on a mission
Actor Jackie Chan recently met another Korean star, in addition to exchanging gifts with EXO who took home the “Most Popular Group” at the 2013 Baidu Fei Dian Awards.
On December 22, Lee Min Ho attended the 2013 Baidu Fei Dian Awards and met world star Jackie Chan for the first time! Lee Min Ho shared the photo to his official Weibo account for fans. In the photo, Lee Min Ho and Jackie Chan look chummy arm-in-arm while throwing peace signs.
Netizens commented, “They finally met!”, “Both of you are so cool!”, “Please work on a project together!” and “Wow, Lee Min Ho is really thin!”
On that day, Lee Min Ho took home “Asia’s Best Actor” award for his latest drama, “The Heirs.” He was also the only international, non-Chinese actor invited to attend the event!

The new SBS drama “Man from the Stars” kicked off on December 18 taking over the Wednesday/Thursday time slot from Heirs. I will be covering this fantasy rom-com for Soompi on a weekly basis. Please be sure to check in and share your thoughts about this drama!
When Do Min Joon landed on Earth 400 years ago, he didn’t realize how much he would dislike living there. He doesn’t age, making it very hard to build relationships with other people, and his super abilities like extra sensitive hearing and the power to stop time don’t seem to do him much good. It’s understandable that over time Min Joon has developed a very cynical outlook towards human life. How will this viewpoint change as he interacts with the loud and opinionated actress Chun Song Yi? As fate would have it, these two already have a deep connection, a connection which spans over 400 years
Park Shin Hye revealed the story behind her hug with Kim Woo Bin that was captured on camera during a dinner party.
In “The Heirs,” which ended on December 12, Kim Woo Bin played Choi Young Do, a bad boy who finally experiences his first love with Park Shin Hye’s character, Cha Eun Sang. However, Eun Sang’s heart belonged to Kim Tan (played by Lee Min Ho) and Young Do’s story of his first love turned out to be a sad one.
However, a video clip of Kim Woo Bin strongly hugging Park Shin Hye delightfully surprised netizens and fans, who wished for Young Do and Eun Sang’s love to come true. Recently, Park Shin Hye and Kim Woo Bin both revealed the story behind that hug during their interviews.
Kim Woo Bin revealed, “At the time, the atmosphere was rising and I got hyped up as well
A new battle for ratings has started with two new drama premieres from SBS and MBC, “Man from the Stars” and “Miss Korea,” respectively. They go against incumbent, KBS’s “Beautiful Man.”
SBS’s new Wed-Thurs drama “Man from the Stars” has a strong debut getting 15.6% of the viewership according to the Nielson Korean Ratings. This is 4% increase in ratings from the debut of the previous SBS drama “The Heirs” which occupied the same time slot.
MBC’s new drama “Miss Korea” debuted with 7% of viewership, up 1.7% from the final episode of “Medical Top Team” ratings last Thursday.
KBS2′s “Beautiful Man” is still struggling with 3.5% of the viewership
Park Shin Hye talked about having fallen into an acting slump in the past.
During the press meeting, which took place on December 17 in Shinsa-dong, Park Shin Hye said, “If I compare myself to ‘Eun Sang’ from The Heirs, I also had a lot of concerns when I was 18 years old. I think that’s when I fell into an acting slump. I hated being called a ‘child actress’ and felt a lot of pressure.”
“I wanted to transition into being an adult actress naturally, but only received comments saying that I looked unnatural acting roles that were much older than I was,” continued the actress.
“So when I started college, I decided to focus on my studies instead of on acting. But at the time, Go Ara, Kim Bum and Kim So Eun, who were around the same age as me, started acting widely in various projects, which made me doubt my decision
