RECAP: FIFTH RECORD Min-joon saves Song-yi from falling overboard, and as he puts her to bed, she pulls him down to her to give him a kiss. She murmurs, “You’ve gone crazy,” but it’s more to herself than to him, believing herself to be dreaming him up. She hushes him from speaking and sighs, “Yeah, I was too lonely all this time and it’s been hard on my body. I’m even dreaming up sexy dreams now. It’s time I married. Hormones are honest.”Drifting off to sleep, Song-yi curls into Min-joon’s coat for warmth—the one he’s wearing, which pulls him even closer to her. Looking completely out of his element (well, even more than he is, for being an alien and all), Min-joon carefully extricates himself. As soon as he exits, he overhears scary hyung Jae-kyung confirming with his secretary that “it” has been completed, without witnesses, and that if not for somebody being greedy, he wouldn’t have had to do this

She asks him a string of questions about his identity, offering that she believes in other life forms (whether grim reapers or folk-tale creatures), and therefore he can be honest about his origins. Through it all, Min-joon just looks at her with an enigmatic smile.
Song-yi invites Min-joon home with her, wanting to take care of him in exchange for him saving her life, and leads the way
The new SBS drama “Man from the Stars” kicked off on December 18 taking over the Wednesday/Thursday time slot from Heirs. I will be covering this fantasy rom-com for Soompi on a weekly basis. Please be sure to check in and share your thoughts about this drama!
When Do Min Joon landed on Earth 400 years ago, he didn’t realize how much he would dislike living there. He doesn’t age, making it very hard to build relationships with other people, and his super abilities like extra sensitive hearing and the power to stop time don’t seem to do him much good. It’s understandable that over time Min Joon has developed a very cynical outlook towards human life. How will this viewpoint change as he interacts with the loud and opinionated actress Chun Song Yi? As fate would have it, these two already have a deep connection, a connection which spans over 400 years
A new battle for ratings has started with two new drama premieres from SBS and MBC, “Man from the Stars” and “Miss Korea,” respectively. They go against incumbent, KBS’s “Beautiful Man.”
SBS’s new Wed-Thurs drama “Man from the Stars” has a strong debut getting 15.6% of the viewership according to the Nielson Korean Ratings. This is 4% increase in ratings from the debut of the previous SBS drama “The Heirs” which occupied the same time slot.
MBC’s new drama “Miss Korea” debuted with 7% of viewership, up 1.7% from the final episode of “Medical Top Team” ratings last Thursday.
“The Heirs” Recap has been written by Soompi Forum moderator laquetahodge for us on a weekly basis. She has her own blog called K-Drama Central with a lot of useful information and advice on what to watch, in case your drama plate isn’t full enough! -soomp
Well the time has come, “The Heirs” has finished. If you want to cry, we’ll have a moment of silence for those going through early withdrawal symptoms. We didn’t get a terrible ending, not everyone got a happy ending, but it wasn’t too open that left me guessing. I don’t like being left guessing after an ending, it feels so unsatisfying. So what were some major moments and some of my favorite scenes from the final week? Let’s find out.
Won and Hyun Joo Break Up
Can’t say I didn’t see this one coming, we had all the signs in what little screen time our Tan/Eun Sang mirrored couple had

On Wednesday night, The Heirs recorded 24.3 percent, its highest numbers since its first episode on October 8.
As viewers are lining up to see the finale of The Heirs, KBS’ Pretty Boy is especially suffering. The drama plummeted down to 2.9 percent, its lowest numbers, contrasting greatly with The Heirs’ record.
Meanwhile, MBC’s Medical Top Team, which had a stellar cast but was overshadowed by The Heirs, will also be ending on December 12, along with its competitor.

I am not sure what to say about this week’s episodes. It was just one big emotional blur with the occasional comical scene thrown in there. Things have come full circle and though I wanted to throw something at my computer screen, I am glad I didn’t. Fictional characters aren’t worth it, I am trying to convince myself this.
Young Do and Tan’s History Comes Full Circle
What do I mean by this? We know why Tan and Young Do’s friendship fell apart and we found out the moment that they both regretted was when it was Young Do’s last moment to see his mother. Tan regretted not trying hard enough to get Young Do and Young Do regretted worrying more about beating Tan than seeing his mom for the last time. When it was time for Young Do to find Tan, he does everything he can to make sure something like this won’t happen again by making sure Ki Ae was safe then finding Tan and giving them his car
Mi Rae’s Choice: Episode 16 Recap We’ve travelled all the way with our characters to the end of the line, but whether the journey is ultimately rewarding or even satisfying for characters and viewers alike… is up in the air.The final episode brings us back full circle as we once again consider the role of human choice in fate’s dictates. The running theme of “hope” also continues to drive Mi Rae’s motivations in her fight for her career and her dreams, but I find myself left with more questions and loose ends than answers, coupled with the unsettling feeling that hope is more often empty than it is fulfilled. EPISODE 16 (FINAL) RECAPEveryone waits with baited breath as Shin pauses for a seeming eternity over his prompts: Will he defy his superiors by reporting on the deadly humidifier sterilizing agent or will he remain quiet and choose self-preservation?Gathering himself, Shin finally begins to report… and it is not on the humidifier story, but on a more mundane matter
So much anguish this week’s episodes of SBS’ The Heirs, especially episode 17 with so many tears and even a bit of blood.

Kdrama Recap: The Heirs Episode 17 Recap by joonniEpisode 17 Tan ends up back at the empty apartment, the last place he saw Eun Sang, smiling back at him. He remembers what Dad said to him after the meeting- “Don’t forget this day. You lost that child today as the consequence of the sword you wielded.” Tears start to fall silently out of Tan’s eyes first, but as the sobs rise in his chest, Tan pants for breath and he falls on his knees. He clutches his chest as he cries. Tan walks the streets calling Eun Sang, but the operator is saying the phone number doesn’t exist. Tan weeps, going numb from the pain as he remembers Eun Sang saying bye to him with a smile at the apartment. Tan arrives home and goes to his dad. He tells him that Eun Sang is gone; he can’t find her
