Hong Suk Chun updated his Twitter on May 7 with a picture of himself alongside "Triangle" co-star Jaejoong and "Empress Qi"s Jin Yi Han. As "Triangle" is replacing "Empress Qi" on MBC, it appears Jin Yi Han went to visit them.


Hong Suk Chun wrote, "During filming of "Triangle," "Empress Qi"s Jin Yi Han made a surprise visit. We are a trio."

“Empress Ki” and “Triangle” Drama Cast Meet on Set

Empress Ki” recently aired their final episode on April 29. The MBC drama series to fill in the Monday and Tuesday evening time slots formerly held by the highly popular drama series will be, “Triangle” featuring JYJ member Jaejoong. On April 28, the cast of both dramas met up since their sets are fairly close to one another.

In the photos, several of the actors from each drama can be seen greeting each other and chatting away. The photos were shared on the official forum for the drama, “Triangle.”

“Triangle” is about three orphaned brothers who reunite after being separated 20 years ago by an unfortunate event. Jaejoong is set to play the second-oldest brother, Heo Young Dahl who turns to a life of thuggery and is willing to do anything to scrape by while trying to forget the traumatic events of his youth

Actress Ha Ji Won took her final photo as Empress Ki, as the MBC drama going by the same name prepared to air its final episode.

On April 29, Ha Ji Won’s agency released the photo with the caption, “This is Ha Ji Won on the day of the filming for the final episode of ‘Empress Ki.’”

In the photo, Ha Ji Won is seen dressed in her ornate costume and makeup as Empress Ki. She holds up the “Empress Ki” drama script while looking at the camera. Her expression can be seen as a mixture of happiness, contentment, and sadness that the drama series has already come to an end.

According to AGB Nielsen Media Research, the April 29th finale of MBC"s "Empress Qi" achieved a 28.7% viewer rating, which is a 2.5% increase from its previous viewer rating of 26.2%.


KBS 2TV"s "Big Man" premiered with a 6.0% viewer rating but fell 1.2% to 4.8% for its second episode. SBS" "Curious Story Y Special" achieved a 4.4% viewer rating.


MBC"s "Triangle" will premiere following "Empress Qi", and SBS" "Doctor Stranger" will premiere as well on May 5!

‘Empress Ki’ Bows Out Without Reaching 30%

After taking over the ratings chart during its entire run, MBC’s Empress Ki concluded its series, rounding up its success.

Running 51 episodes in total, Empress Ki starred a talented cast of Ha Ji Won, Joo Jin Mo, Ji Chang Wook, and many more. The fast-paced and detailed story kept viewers on board since the end of October, when the drama first began with ratings of 11.1.

Ratings continue to rise, reaching its highest of 29.2 percent in March with episode 37. Its last episode, however, ended with 28.7, unfortunately not hitting 30 percent as everyone hoped it would.

With the conclusion of Empress Ki, MBC will follow it up with Triangle, starring Lee Bum Soo, Kim Jae Joong, and Im Si Wan.

Baek Jin Hee, star of hit drama “Empress Ki,” is set to return to the small screen in the new MBC series “Triangle.” The drama, written by Choi Wan Gyu, and produced by Yoo Chul Yong and Choi Jung Kyu, will feature the actress in the role of Oh Jung Hee.

MBC drama "Empress Qi" has been extended by one episode.

The drama"s production company rep told OSEN on April, "["Empress Qi"] has been confirmed for a one-episode extension." The rep also mentioned that the script for the final episode has yet to be completed.


"Empress Qi" has been going strong as the #1 Mon-Tues major broadcast drama in its time slot, so fans will be happy to know that the story will go on one episode longer than originally scheduled.

It will conclude with its 51st episode on the 29th!

Jang Geun Suk Might Have Played Emperor Ta Hwan Instead of Ji Chang Wook in “Empress Ki”

The March 30 episode of MBC’s “Section TV” revealed some of the behind-the-scenes of casting for the drama “Empress Ki.” According to the broadcast, Ji Chang Wook’s role of Ta Hwan might have gone to fellow actor Jang Geun Suk. The production team really tried to recruit Jang Geun Suk for the role, but he had another drama in mind, and as “Empress Ki” is a longer drama, it didn’t fit with Jang Geun Suk’s international schedule.

Moreover, it was revealed that Baek Jin Hee’s role for Tanashiri first went to actress Kim Min Jung, and when that failed, Baek Jin Hee was cast just one week before filming started for the drama.

It has been revealed that casting for Empress Ki changed at the last minute.

March 30’s broadcast of MBC’s Section TV revealed the story behind the drama casting.

Empress Ki, which has been earning over 30% in viewership ratings, originally cast Jang Keun Suk and Kim Min Jung for the roles currently played by Ji Chang Wook and Baek Jin Hee, respectively.

Having acted alongside Ha Ji Won previously in Hwang Jin Yi, Jang Keun Suk was expected to be a great partner for the actress in another historical drama. However, Jang Keun Suk’s casting got nullified due to his schedules abroad, which overlapped with the 50 episode long drama.

Many actors also refused to take the role, since having to do a pigtail was rumored to cause misfortune, and the role was finally given to Ji Chang Wook
