Empress Ki Ep34 Recap by thetalkingcupboard.wordpress.com
Seung-nyang stopped right in front of Yoo for a moment of angsty and accusing stare from her side and the guards were ordered to drag her away, but Ta-hwan’s arrival at the throne hall turned out to be a surprise for all of them. Tanashiri expressed her (faked?) relief to see him up and walking, but he’s only interested in what were they doing with Lady Ki. Seung-nyang was happy to have him recovering from the poison and Ta-hwan smiled at her reassuringly. They only had eyes for each other, as if they were the only people in the hall! Still, I feel bad for Yoo, who must felt a pang of sadness upon hearing Seung-nyang’s concern directed towards Ta-hwan
You From Another Star Ep20 Recap by Softy
CY says for my sake – exist somewhere. for my sake – dont die. exist somewhere. what I am saying is – go – to where you are from. he (jang) said it wouldn’t do if you don’t go – that you might die – that you are having a hard time even now so leave. he says I already decided – I am going to stay by your side. she says I already decided too - if you stay by my side and die I will die too. don’t you know what that means? I like you way more than you think so just with the truth that you are alive somewhere -I think I can live. rather than not being around anywhere in the world -it’s easier to decide than that. he says that wont happen – I wont make you be alone

11 preview nextview This was such a cute episode with both romance and bromance headed Do Min Joon’s way.
Episode 18 also got us moving along towards a conclusion with evidence of Lee Jae Kyung’s wrongdoing coming into light.
But we pushed the seriousness aside and chose the lovey dovey and hilarious moments, so check it out! Do Min Joon:
How much do you weigh?
After Do Min Joon fails to lift Chun Song Yi using his special powers. Do Min Joon:

Emergency Couple Episode 7 - 8 Recap by Couch-Kimchi:
This week, someone heard our prayers because not only is Jin Hee showing everyone what a great intern she is (girl haz mad skills) but there appears to be tiny flashes of jealousy from Chang Min. *hehehe* Are we going to get our wish and he falls for her first?
Tessieroo: What? Only one episode this week? Whyyyyy?
Leila: It’s because of the Sochi Winter Olympics. I bet every Korean are anticipating for Kim Yu Na’s performance in figure skating. One episode only this week and we know that hardcore fans of this series will savor this to pieces.
Tessieroo: I don’t know why I thought someone would catch her but nope, our girl falls flat on her face
Today is Valentine"s Day
You know what that means. Chocolates, flowers, teddy bears... Well.... if we had a significant other, maybe. Thankfully for the rest of us who happen to be single, we can overdose on ice cream and chocolate by our lonely selves and live vicariously through drama couples. For this Valentine"s Day, we decided to look at some of the drama couples with relationships that we dreamed of having (SPOILERS BELOW)!

The Couple with the Worst Timing
Sung Shi Won (A Pink"s Eunji) and Yoon Yoon Jae (Seo In Guk) of "Reply 1997" by contagion
HE WAS TOO EARLY
These two episodes offered many an adorable moment for our lead couple, even giving us a glimpse of what their normal, happy life could look like. Now that Min Joon is ready to hold Song Yi close, he’s finally showing off more emotion. He’ll hold her hand, appear by her side when called, and may even drunkenly teleport into her bedroom. As his departure looms ever closer, he begins to make some important decisions about his future actions. What’s the use of an eternal life if he can’t be beside his loved one?
Min Joon and Song Yi’s Relationship Takes Center Stage
Romantic Highlights Include:
When Song Yi drags Min Joon back home due to his kiss-induced illness, she can’t help but pester him about his kissing weakness. Min Joon lays in bed doing his best to recover while Song Yi fires off question after question
Emergency Couple - Episode 5 - 6 Recap by Couch-Kimchi:
This week made it clear that I need more from this couple. It’s strange that I’m not seeing the passion to be a Doctor in Chang Min that I see from Jin-Hee. Although we learn her reason for getting into medicine was twisted, she does exhibit a natural desire to help people along with raw talent. And I’m not the only one who noticed – our grumpy, over-worked resident Cheon-Soo noticed.
Cheon-Soo prepares to answer questions about the elevator incident, while Chang Min tries to accept all the blame. Chang Min’s Mother, Sung Sook is brought into the ER after taking too many anti-anxiety pills, which she did after arguing with Chang Min’s Father. Jin-Hee rushes forward to help and finds herself looking into the face of the monster who made her one year of marriage a living hell
Emergency Couple Episode 3 - 4 Recap by Couch-Kimchi:
This week offered so much depth and interesting information about what really went wrong between Chang Min and Jin Hee. I know there’s more to see and we personally can’t wait to discover more. When two passionate individuals collide, we can expect a thrill like no other.
Tessieroo: Jin Hee inadvertently shocks Chang Min, he falls to the ground unconscience. Cheon-Soo rushes to his side. He’s placed on a gurney and his shirt is cut open to place electrodes on his chest. *stares, slack-jawed at Jin Hyuk’s massive chest*
Leila: Just as I thought, shocking Chang Min wasn’t intentional. I guess because of the urgency of the moment, all Jin Hee could think of is saving Chang Min
Daily dramas are tricky. They’re usually 100 plus episodes, so many characters you need a flow-chart and are often based on family dynamics. The plus’s are they’re usually only 30 minutes long, which is very easy to fit into my evenings. Since I fast-forward through any parts of the story I’m not interested in – that leaves me with maybe 15 actual minutes of hard-core drama. *kekeke*
Melody of Love, airing on KBS caught my eye because of two of the actors. Baek Sung-hyun, who I remembered from “White Christmas” and “Queen Insoo” and Kim Hye-Ok, who always (and I mean always) plays the screechy, screaming (literally) horrible Mom. I decided to check it out and snoozed my way through the early episodes. Until around episode 30 when it hit me what this drama was about: Two sisters in love with the same man
You Who Came From the Stars / You From Another Star E14 Recap by Softy

“Empress Ki” – Episode 23 - 24 Recap by Couch-Kimchi:
This week was equal parts heartbreak, frustration and excitement. Heartbreaking watching Ki suffer and frustrating watching the bad guys continue to win. But there is excitement that we’re moving into the revenge stage. Both ships have suffered blows however, there are signs a new ship is forming? LOL!
Tessieroo: Ki has her baby, alone in a cave. (depressing much?) It’s a boy and she names him “Byul” which means Star. In Yuan, Wang Yoo is thrown from his horse.
Rinchan: That baby’s cry was strong enough to knock some sense in his dad all the way from Yuan, I sense the burgeoning of strong, unconscious family ties here.
Tessieroo: Ki hears voices, she runs but they’re not far behind
“Emergency Couple” – Episode 1 - 2 Recap by Couch-Kimchi:
Tessieroo: It’s here! I’ve been waiting for this! I was thrilled when they announced the actors since I have major Jin “Hyukitis” and I love me some “Ace”. *hee* I was also delighted its airing on tvN – which remains my favorite network. What about you?
Leila: It excites me to see Choi Jin Hyuk in another drama! So I’m more than thrilled to be recapping this with you.
Tessieroo: The basic story is: Oh Jin Hee (Song Ji Hyo) and Oh Chang Min (Choi Jin Hyuk) get married against his family’s wishes, are married one year but divorce. Six years pass before they meet again – discovering they are both interns at the same hospital
These episodes are jam-packed with heart wrenching emotion. The future doesn’t look too bright, especially with Min Joon’s departure looming ever closer. His desire to push Song Yi away grows, but so does his hopeless dream of a happy and normal life with heri at his side. For better or for worse, I’ve become heavily invested in the well-being of these characters. Seeing both Song Yi and Min Joon struggle through their heartache has left me emotionally drained and dejected. Keep in mind these feelings are a testament to just how great this show is.
Why is My Heart Breaking?
Min Joon Rejects Song Yi’s Confession
Min Joon’s run in with the psychopath Jae Kyung’s poisoned needle reminded him just how strong his feelings for Song Yi have grown. He’s convinced he must do all that he can to end his connection before it’s too late to recover
“Empress Ki” – Episode 21 - Episode 22 Recap by Couch-Kimchi:
I’ve been involved with this drama since the beginning and have met some truly wonderful people at the Soompi thread but I have to say, Rinchan’s posts are mature, patient and though-provoking. I (and many others) look forward to reading her posts so I asked her to co-recap Empress Ki. The Couch Kimchi ladies and I are hoping she’ll enjoy this experience so much that she’ll want to stick around and write about other dramas. *hehehe* So please welcome our first guest-writer – Rinchan!
Rinchan: Thanks again for the invitation, as well as the warm welcome. Empress Ki is the first drama that I have ever decided to post my thoughts on in Soompi and the people there, including Tess, have made it a fun, interesting place to not only share your thoughts, but read the thoughts of others
“You who came from the stars”: Episode 4 Recap by drama beans

Basketball: Episode 18 FINAL EPISODE RECAP by Drama Beans
San ends up finding a pin he gave his mother in the forest and cries now that the reality of her death has come crashing down.
Meanwhile, Takeshi’s dad tells him that he’s taken care of things so that Takeshi will end up playing in the finals (even though his team lost). But their talk is interrupted when San bursts into the house wielding a bat, smashing everything he can before he demands to know where his mother is.
Takeshi’s frightened, but asks San, “Do you have any proof? Do you have any proof I killed her?” This pushes San over the edge as he starts beating the living daylights out of Takeshi until he’s hauled off by the house servants
“Man from the Stars” Episode 1 Recap by drama beans
We begin in 1609, the first year of Gwanghae’s reign during the Joseon era. It’s on August 25 that a mysterious “round, shining flying object” was sighted and logged in the official records; it zoomed overhead with “a thunderous noise” before disappearing into sparks, leaving the skies clear and cloudless.(This is a real part of historical record, and served as the basis for tvN’s sci-fi-mystery drama Joseon X-Files, which I recommend by the way.)A procession makes its way along a mountain road, carrying a young girl who was widowed just as soon as she was married. Suddenly, the UFO appears directly above them, kicking up such a fierce wind that the travelers go flying. The young widow is buffeted about in her sedan chair, which eventually gets caught up in the tornado and skids along the ground, teetering at the edge of a cliff
Master’s Sun Week Six (Episode 11-12) Recap by Couch-Kimchi:
Joong Won really raised his stake. Not only is he risking his heart but his life as well, for love. It’s refreshing to see a man become better, in a series its mostly the woman we see changing. Here in Master’s Sun, I love how Joong Won’s love is profound than any man could possibly make a woman feel. It’s all out, withholding nothing. That’s why seeing how the week ended hurts so bad. He’s the one loving more, is he going to suffer much from it too?
Take heart everyone!!
We are in the most exciting phase. Surely Joong Won won’t just leave Gong Shil behind, hurting for him alone. This is one roller coaster ride I won’t mind repeating, even if it makes my heart stop beating for seconds or take my breathe away
Master’s Sun Week Five (Episode 9-10) by Couch-Kimchi:
Week Five is amazingly awesome! Yup, too much sweetness and heart combined. I’m not gagging nor complaining. We have progressed into something beautiful. Joong Won had me smiling all throughout and I can’t contain myself. He has transformed into a selfless man, so understanding and open. Even with a fiancee scare, love just find its way somehow.
When love is found, you won’t be able to let it go. Let’s all reminisce about the week and let love just scream, “Yes it’s you.”
We all need someone to just be there, especially when we needed it most. Gong Shil did not leave Joong Won’s side as he contemplates and think about his own hurt, RE: Hee Joo
Master’s Sun Episode 1 Recap by Couch-Kimchi:
Another year when a sure Hong Sister’s drama will be shown. 2013, will you be the year when the sister’s can redeem themselves?
Strike two for the Hong’s since I was literally heartbroken (Best Love) and disappointed (Big) with their last two dramas. Having said that, I kinda lowered my expectations on their new drama and will let it be. This is how I move on. Besides, everyone deserves a chance, crossing my fingers they do deserve it.
I find the first week really engaging and heartfelt. I’m so easy to please you know. Without further a do, let’s dig in!
Tae Gong Shil (Gong Hyo Jin) is your regular house keeper and for the nth time, she was again asked to clean Room 404
