Medical Top Team Episode 20 Recap
Warning- there are spoilers for the first ten episodes of ‘To the Beautiful You‘ ahead!
Due to what is either poor planning or unfortunate timing, the idol-laden KBS drama ‘To the Beautiful You’ has been struggling to gain viewers, consistently coming last in broadcast ratings for its Wednesday and Thursday night slots. This may be due to premiering during the final episodes of the wildly-popular ‘Bridal Mask‘ (KBS2), and now running at the same time as another popular drama, ‘Arang and the Magistrate‘ (MBC).In addition, this drama runs late at night, even though it is targeted at a younger demographic of viewers and should probably be playing a little earlier in the evening.

He’s still trying to piece it all together when Se-joo calls to confirm his family lineage and apologize for keeping him in the dark. Shin asks if Mi-rae knows this truth as well, to which Se-joo smiles, amused to hear Shin suddenly speak to him in jondaemal. He asks that Shin keep it under wraps for now.

As the mine shaft collapses around San and Byeo-ri’s Dad, Chi-ho is left completely blindsided by Shin-young’s sudden marriage request. She’s at least truthful when she tells him why she’s asking, in that she’s doing it to protect San. Points for honesty?
San regains consciousness amidst the rubble and helps free Byeo-ri’s Dad’s leg from fallen rocks. The leg is badly crushed and bleeding, so the elder tells San to find a way out without him. San refuses—they’ll escape together.
Answer Me 1994: Episode 15 recap by dramabeans: “The people who changed me, Part 2″
It’s January 1996, and Na-jung is caught in a fierce tug-of-war with Garbage in the front yard… because she’s trying to sneak him into her room at night and he’s resisting. HA. She whines that he can just stay for ten minutes and nobody will be the wiser, except then Dad comes out and sees the scene. Na-jung and Garbage break apart and try not to look guilty, which of course makes them look incredibly guilty.
“Medical Top Team” Episode 1 Recap by Couch-Kimchi:
I haven’t seen much posted about MBC’s Wed/Thurs drama “Medical Top Team” (which is up against “Secret” and “Heirs”) so I decided to check it out for myself. I was excited Joo Ji Hoon is back in dramaland but I hate his hair in this one. Whoever the stylist is for Ji Hoon (and Woo Bin in “Heirs”) that believes helmet-hair is a good look should be immediately fired – both guys look horrible. But that’s totally off topic and my own personal opinion. Medical Top Team turned out to be intriguing enough that I find myself looking forward to the next episodes.
Answer Me 1994 Recap – Episode 15 by Dramabeans:
With all the husband hullaballoo, sometimes the secondary characters feel a bit too secondary, but then they’ll step to the fore with something really sweet. It’s easy to get caught up in the Oppa-Chilbongie wars (omg you guys are killing me with them), but this drama has a lot more to offer than fanwars and shipping, which is actually why I think it’s doing itself a disservice to be so coy with the “Who is he?” gimmick. Because when the show is all about the small, revealing character moments, it’s totally got my heart.
EPISODE 6 RECAP by drama beans
So our married couple spends their first night together with Yul staying up to work while Da-jung sleeps. The following morning, Da-jung encourages a reluctant Man-se to attend kindergarten. She promises him a playdate, but a stern word from his father gets him to grudgingly head off to school.
Calling her a worry (geok-jung), Yul sighs in exasperation and removes a note attached to Da-jung’s back (another one of Na-ra’s pranks). He tells her to stay out of trouble since worrying about national affairs gives him enough of a headache and to stop wearing the hanbok.
Answer Me 1994: A Special Finale Discussion by Couch-Kimchi:
Episode 20 was a big blow for me because I really saw how the story came about in this episode. Watching it with subtitles really had a huge impact, not to say that it didn’t stir my emotions already. My initial assumptions had a new light, seeing how each moment comes in full view. It brought a different kind of experience that made me think otherwise. It is a hard pill to swallow at first. But don’t let yourself miss out on the story because of this.
Series Review: Answer Me 1994 (by Couch-Kimchi)
The reason why our youth is painful is that its all full of unknowns. Its like the time of taking an exam, when there’s so many blanks that we have no idea what to put. When I look back at those times, there were no right answers to the blanks. But for some reasons, I had a fear of someone holding an answer sheet & grading the papers. And also with a fear of what if I write different answers than other people.
“Emergency Couple” – Episode 1 – 2 Recap by Couch-Kimchi:
Tessieroo: It’s here! I’ve been waiting for this! I was thrilled when they announced the actors since I have major Jin “Hyukitis” and I love me some “Ace”. *hee* I was also delighted its airing on tvN – which remains my favorite network. What about you?
Leila: It excites me to see Choi Jin Hyuk in another drama! So I’m more than thrilled to be recapping this with you.
Emergency Couple Episode 3 – 4 Recap by Couch-Kimchi:
This week offered so much depth and interesting information about what really went wrong between Chang Min and Jin Hee. I know there’s more to see and we personally can’t wait to discover more. When two passionate individuals collide, we can expect a thrill like no other.
Tessieroo: Jin Hee inadvertently shocks Chang Min, he falls to the ground unconscience. Cheon-Soo rushes to his side. He’s placed on a gurney and his shirt is cut open to place electrodes on his chest. *stares, slack-jawed at Jin Hyuk’s massive chest*
It’s just another normal day for Sales Team 3, complete with Chief Oh yelling at Geu-rae for his incompetent work. He throws files at him to redo, and Geu-rae rushes to his desk. In a voiceover, he tells us, “It’s a relief that nothing has changed, at least for me.”
We see what he means as we get updates from our other newbie employees. Seok-yul struggles to adjust, having been planted in the office from the factory. Baek-ki has little to do, being valued less than his boss’s Bluetooth headset. Even ace Young-yi is demoted to handle the food and other trivial item deliveries on her team while also being treated coldly by her superiors for no apparent reason.
Da-jung pulls the last card toward her, the one that will decide her fate… and it’s the misprint. Jaime wins the bet, and Da-jung loses one hundred fifty thousand dollars.
While Dal-goo distracts the mall guards with his intentionally bad driving, Woo-jin takes the opportunity to sneak inside and cut the power. PD Lee keeps calm in the midst of the blackout, completely unaware that Woo-jin has disguised himself as a Liar Game crew member. Ah ha.
It’s Sunday, the day of rest, and in the early morning, Geu-rae goes for a run, remembering how his old baduk teacher counseled that physical health is important for mental health, especially when it comes to will power and stamina.
At a coffee shop, Baek-ki tries to appear politely interested in his blind date, but she’s more focused on his salary and how he would be able to provide for her. He bails early and heads to the movies, where he runs into Young-yi (and he lies that he’s dressed up for a friend’s wedding, not a blind date).
The clock winds down to news hour and both networks begin their broadcasts, with Hyung sitting down for his interview at MSC and Dal-po bracing himself in a sound studio at YGN. Yoo-rae peeks inside the room and pouts at how unfair it is that Dal-po gets the big story for his first official on-camera report, and though she’s in the news lineup tonight as well, she guesses her mother will be asleep before her segment ever airs.
Grandpa fumbles with the remote to hurry and record the news just in case In-ha or Dal-po debut, and Dad tells him not to bother—they can do this every night till the cows come home, but the kids aren’t showing up on that TV.
We pick back up on the morning of Tae-joon’s inauguration as the next prosecutor general, thanks to Ha-kyung’s non-statement at the confirmation hearing in the previous episode. Jung-hwan’s mother tsks upon hearing that the test results will take a few more days, but we know that her daughter is lying by omission so as not to worry her with the truth about Jung-hwan’s condition.
It’s hard for little sis Hyun-sun to see her brother smile and laugh at the breakfast table, knowing that there’s a chance the malignant tumor in his brain could suppress the ability to do both one day.
Ha-kyung tries to stay strong for her daughter over the phone, unable to tell her that she’s been arrested. Ye-rin’s tearful cries bring tears to Ha-kyung’s own eyes, but she swallows her pain as she assures her that everything is going to be okay.
For now, little Ye-rin is staying with Hyun-sun, who also can’t tell her the truth about her dad. Ye-rin can only cry that someone needs to tell her father to come save her mother, because her dad can do anything. Aw.
Ho-sung thinks he has big news for Jung-hwan when he reveals that he’s been suspended from looking into Professor Noh Young-jin’s accounts, only for Jung-hwan to admit that hecalled it off.
Our novice prosecutor doesn’t understand, especially since Tae-joon is out there actively winning over the media to prevent them from thinking he had political motives in targeting the Chief of Staff. Their goal should be to make Noh Young-jin’s word untrustworthy…
In amidst the whirlwind of media coverage surrounding Minister Yoon the day before her confirmation hearing, she makes sure to get all the details from Ho-sung regarding his search and seizure of all Dr. Mechanic’s possessions. She wants to make sure his father left nothing behind regarding the enlistment fraud case.
She has to smile and act upright for the cameras, hypocritically promising that she’ll hide nothing during her hearing. Only when she’s safely in her car does she call Ho-sung to tell him to meet with Dr. Mechanic in person and bring her anything regarding the enlistment case if he has it.
Wendilynn: Damn straight. lol
Taleena: I really felt like this whole episode was set up for the second half of the show being a crazy game of “Gotcha!” Yes, we get a few revelations, but this episode involved moving pieces onto either Dr. E or Ji Sang’s side of the equation.
Firnlambe: I’m so glad this show’s writers didn’t decide to just give up once they reached the halfway mark.
