Emergency Couple Episode 3 - 4 Recap by Couch-Kimchi:

This week offered so much depth and interesting information about what really went wrong between Chang Min and Jin Hee. I know there’s more to see and we personally can’t wait to discover more. When two passionate individuals collide, we can expect a thrill like no other.

Tessieroo: Jin Hee inadvertently shocks Chang Min, he falls to the ground unconscience. Cheon-Soo rushes to his side. He’s placed on a gurney and his shirt is cut open to place electrodes on his chest. *stares, slack-jawed at Jin Hyuk’s massive chest*

Leila: Just as I thought, shocking Chang Min wasn’t intentional. I guess because of the urgency of the moment, all Jin Hee could think of is saving Chang Min

Answer Me 1994: A Special Finale Discussion by Couch-Kimchi:

Episode 20 was a big blow for me because I really saw how the story came about in this episode. Watching it with subtitles really had a huge impact, not to say that it didn’t stir my emotions already. My initial assumptions had a new light, seeing how each moment comes in full view. It brought a different kind of experience that made me think otherwise. It is a hard pill to swallow at first. But don’t let yourself miss out on the story because of this.

Now a simple surprise for you all. I’m not going to do this alone. As you already know, I am a biased Chil Bong shipper. So just to balance this post and to help us all understand the story much better, with a different point of view and amazing insights, I am writing this with a good friend whom I respect as a blogger herself

Joo Sang-wook, John Park and Alex to cameo in “I Need Romance 3″

By in News posted Oct January 7th, 2014 No comments

Our heroine has quite the lineup of ex-boyfriends to cameo in the premiere of I Need Romance 3. The opening episode will reportedly feature a hit parade of exes, including cameos from Joo Sang-wook (Good Doctor), singer John Park, and Alex (Medical Top Team), whom we’ve seen in the first teaser. Then the second teaser below reveals the timely return of Sung Joon, the younger man she’ll meet and not recognize as the little boy next door she grew up with.

The third installment of the I Need Romance series stars Kim So-yeon as a 32-year-old fashion marketing director who’s developed a thick skin in both the workplace and in romance. She’d rather be called names behind her back than to be stepped on at work, and is known as a ball-buster without a heart

EPISODE 6 RECAP by drama beans

So our married couple spends their first night together with Yul staying up to work while Da-jung sleeps. The following morning, Da-jung encourages a reluctant Man-se to attend kindergarten. She promises him a playdate, but a stern word from his father gets him to grudgingly head off to school.

Calling her a worry (geok-jung), Yul sighs in exasperation and removes a note attached to Da-jung’s back (another one of Na-ra’s pranks). He tells her to stay out of trouble since worrying about national affairs gives him enough of a headache and to stop wearing the hanbok.

He also assigns her to keep a daily log on his children—their thoughts, concerns, behaviors, and so on

A new battle for ratings has started with two new drama premieres from SBS and MBC, “Man from the Stars” and “Miss Korea,” respectively. They go against incumbent, KBS’s “Beautiful Man.”

SBS’s new Wed-Thurs drama “Man from the Stars” has a strong debut getting 15.6% of the viewership according to the Nielson Korean Ratings. This is 4% increase in ratings from the debut of the previous SBS drama “The Heirs” which occupied the same time slot.

MBC’s new drama “Miss Korea” debuted with 7% of viewership, up 1.7% from the final episode of “Medical Top Team” ratings last Thursday.

“Miss Korea” Lee Yeon Hee On Being Compared to “Reply 1994″ Go Ara

By in News posted Oct December 17th, 2013 No comments

Actress Lee Yeon Hee recently talked about being compared to Go Ara.

On December 16, there was a production press conference for MBC’s new drama, “Miss Korea,” with producer Kwon Seok Jang, and cast members Lee Sun Kyun, Lee Yeon Hee, Lee Sung Min, Song Sun Mi, Lee Mi Sook, Lee Ki Woo, and Go Seong Hee.

At the press conference, Lee Yeon Hee said, “Because we’re under the same agency, I get a lot of questions comparing me to Go Ara. But actors make their own characters, so I don’t worry about it. Through “Reply 1994,” I think Go Ara will do even better in the future.”

“Miss Korea” is a drama about employees at a cosmetics company who, in order to save the company from the 1997 financial crisis, seek out the old high school beauty, and try to make her into Miss Korea

School 2013

Who doesn’t love a good high school drama?

But this drama, in particular, holds a special place in our hearts for birthing one of the hottest bromances of 2013

And although there were flower boys a-plenty on KBS’ School 2013, the drama also delved into real life issues today’s high school students face through relatable characters and storylines

Answer Me 1994 Recap – Episode 15 “The people who changed me, Part 2″

Answer Me 1994 Recap - Episode 15 by Dramabeans:

With all the husband hullaballoo, sometimes the secondary characters feel a bit too secondary, but then they’ll step to the fore with something really sweet. It’s easy to get caught up in the Oppa-Chilbongie wars (omg you guys are killing me with them), but this drama has a lot more to offer than fanwars and shipping, which is actually why I think it’s doing itself a disservice to be so coy with the “Who is he?” gimmick. Because when the show is all about the small, revealing character moments, it’s totally got my heart.

EPISODE 15: “The people who changed me, Part 2″

It’s January 1996, and Na-jung is caught in a fierce tug-of-war with Garbage in the front yard… because she’s trying to sneak him into her room at night and he’s resisting

Answer Me 1994 Episode 14 Recap by Dramabeans:

It’s the height of happiness and the depths of heartache, as one suitor takes a step closer, which invariably means the other gets left behind. The fallout turns out to be harder for my heart to handle than expected, especially when impending separation turns a simple goodbye into one that might be forever. Say it ain’t so!

EPISODE 14: “The people who changed me, Part 1″

2013. The houseguests start getting hungry, and the boys prod Binggeure to pay for some food (I’m taking that as a good sign that he’s successful). He pretends not to know what they’re talking about, so they call out Chilbongie next, who defers to Garbage because he’s eldest

Medical Top Team is ending which means another drama gets to take its home. The new occupant of the very low ratings spot is none other than Lee Sun Kyun’s and Lee Yeon Hee’s romantic comedy Miss Korea. I hope they have better luck here.

What is it about? From AsianWiki:

Set in the year 1997. A cosmetics company is in bad financial shape. To save the company, Hyung-Joon (Lee Sun-Kyun) and other employees try to make Ji-Young (Lee Yeon-Hee) into Miss Korea. Back in their high school days, Ji-Young was the most beautiful student. She now works as an elevator girl.

‘The Heirs’ Say Good-Bye with Highest Ratings

By in News posted Oct December 13th, 2013 No comments

We say good-bye to SBS’ The Heirs as the series came to an end on Thursday night.

Loose strings were tied up as each character tried to find a reason to smile. Of course, not everyone found happiness and tears were spilled for some who would have to carry the burden of the crown they carried.

Overall, theseries ended on a light and fluffy note, leaving viewers in good moods, allowing the drama to record 25.6 percent, its highest since its first episode.

MBC’s Medical Top Team also concluded its run with 5.6 percent.

‘The Heirs’ Receives Highest Numbers Ahead of Finale

By in News posted Oct December 12th, 2013 No comments

With only one episode to go, SBS’ The Heirs is at full speed to wrap up, gaining high ratings on the way.

On Wednesday night, The Heirs recorded 24.3 percent, its highest numbers since its first episode on October 8.

As viewers are lining up to see the finale of The Heirs, KBS’ Pretty Boy is especially suffering. The drama plummeted down to 2.9 percent, its lowest numbers, contrasting greatly with The Heirs’ record.

Meanwhile, MBC’s Medical Top Team, which had a stellar cast but was overshadowed by The Heirs, will also be ending on December 12, along with its competitor.

“Medical Top Team” Episode 1 Recap by Couch-Kimchi:

I haven’t seen much posted about MBC’s Wed/Thurs drama “Medical Top Team” (which is up against “Secret” and “Heirs”) so I decided to check it out for myself. I was excited Joo Ji Hoon is back in dramaland but I hate his hair in this one. Whoever the stylist is for Ji Hoon (and Woo Bin in “Heirs”) that believes helmet-hair is a good look should be immediately fired – both guys look horrible. But that’s totally off topic and my own personal opinion. Medical Top Team turned out to be intriguing enough that I find myself looking forward to the next episodes.

It opens on a swanky party given by hospital board members to introduce the new Assistant Director: Shin Hye Soo (Kim Young-Ae) and to outline her idea of putting together a “Top Medical Team” of doctors within Kwanghye University Hospital

It’s January 1996, and Na-jung is caught in a fierce tug-of-war with Garbage in the front yard… because she’s trying to sneak him into her room at night and he’s resisting. HA. She whines that he can just stay for ten minutes and nobody will be the wiser, except then Dad comes out and sees the scene. Na-jung and Garbage break apart and try not to look guilty, which of course makes them look incredibly guilty.

Dad asks suspiciously, “Are you two… maybe…?” They gulp hard, and then Dad finishes, “still fighting like mad dogs?” He barks at them to stop acting like kids while they sag in visible relief. Thank god for Dad’s dimness

So Garbage gets up to get his wallet (interesting), and then Na-jung hands the folder of takeout menus to Chilbongie, who calls to make the order (iiiinnnnnteresting). Garbage tells him to add some soju to the order, only to have Na-jung scream at him for drinking too much.

Back in the summer of 1995, we rewind to Oppa swooping in for The Kiss. Pssh, as if we didn’t all re-watch that a thousand times last week

‘Heirs’ Go Up; ‘Pretty Boy’ Goes Down

By in News posted Oct December 6th, 2013 No comments

Despite having a group of very pretty boys in both dramas, we’re seeing completely opposite results.

On Thursday night, SBS’ The Heirs claimed its highest ratings to date with 23.9 percent as Kim Tan and Cha Eun Sang realized they cannot live without each other.

On the flipside, KBS’ Pretty Boy experienced its lowest point ever, dropping to 3.8 percent.

With The Heirs only having two more episodes to go, maybe things will get better for Pretty Boy, unless The Heirs’ successor, Man from the Stars, which stars Kim Soo Hyun and Jeon Ji Hyun, decides to continue the success.
