On December 12, the actor stated through his agency, Sidus HQ, “It was great working with wonderful people. I’m happy we were able to finish filming without any serious accidents. Everyone part of ‘The Heirs’ team spent the last three months in gratitude from all the love we received from fans.”

Kim Woo Bin added, “I was able to learn many things through this project, and I want to thank all the people who cheered for the bad boy Young Do. I will do my best to keep improving.”

At the press conference for 2013 SBS Gayo Awards, which took place on December 18, Taemin expressed his gratitude for “being a part of the big project.”

In the music drama to be showcased at the award ceremony, Taemin will act as ‘Kim Tan’ while Minah will act as ‘Cha Eun Sang’ from the drama The Heirs.

She shared, “I am older than Son Ye Jin, but I’ve always called her ‘Ye Jin Ah Ssi,’” showing the unusual combination of informal and formal manner of addressing someone as part of their adorable friendship.

She continued, “Son Ye Jin is someone who is always honest and really hilarious. If she showed her true self on variety programs, I’ve told (Son Ye Jin) that she’d discover a new world of opportunities available to her.”

Despite starring in SBS“s hit drama “That Winter, The Wind Blows,” Song Hye Kyo will not be attending the “2013 SBS Drama Awards” due to scheduling conflicts.

Her name was up in a short list of candidates for the Popularity Award along with her co-star Jo In Sung, but her agency told TV Daily on December 24, “It will be hard for Song Hye Kyo to take part because of her schedule for the movie “The Crossing,” which is currently being filmed in Taiwan . . . She really wanted to be there, but the schedule was already out two months before and she can no longer be absent because she is in almost all of the scenes.

Actress Lee Bo Young is currently reviewing an offer to star in new SBS drama “God”s Gift – 14 Days“!

Her agency Will Entertainment rep stated, “[Lee Bo Young] received the casting offer and is positively reviewing it. Her casting has not been confirmed yet.” Another rep updated fans, “Following her honeymoon, Lee Bo Young is currently on a break and is preparing to host the “2013 SBS Drama Awards” to air on the 31st.”

Being its own drama competitor, KBS’ Prime Minister and I rose to its highest ratings to date due to the cancellation of MBC’s Empress Ki and SBS’ A Warm Word.

Prime Minister and I jumped from 5.7 to 8.9 percent on Monday night with the broadcasts of the 2013 SBS Entertainment Awards and 2013 MBC Drama Awards.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister and I, Empress Ki, and A Warm Word will not be airing on December 31 due to award ceremonies taking place in the same time slots.

Among the 2013 awards shows of the top three networks in Korea (KBS, SBS, MBC), “2013 MBC Drama Awards” got the highest ranking. According to Nielson Korea ratings, the first part of MBC’s drama awards show received 13.7% of the viewership, while part two received 15.2% of the viewership. MBC barely edged out “2013 KBS Entertainment Awards” that took place on December 21. KBS received 13.5% for part one and 15.1% for part two. Network SBS came in last place receiving 10.2% for part one and 12.2% for part two.

As the new year began, SBS’ You Who Came From the Stars continued to rise in ratings as the story became thicker with the entrance of blossoming romance.

On the first day of January, You Who Came From the Stars recorded 22.3 percent in ratings, setting a new record for itself.

MBC’s Miss Korea also saw an increase to 9.5 percent, along with a one percent rise for KBS’ Pretty Boy.

According to AGB Nielsen Media Research, the music festivals weren”t able to surpass the double-digit mark in overall viewer ratings with the “2013 KBS Music Festival” achieving the highest viewer rating of 9.1% and the “2013 SBS Gayo Daejun” achieving the lowest of 7.6%.
