Series Overview: Fated to Love You is a Bundle of Laughter and Tears Written by Joyce On September 20, 2014

On the back of the finale of Fated to Love You, I’d like to say that the show will stay in my memory as the drama with the best character interpretations. It features the reunion of Jang Hyuk and Jang Nara, who starred together in Successful Story of a Bright Girl ten years ago. While Fated‘s plot is nothing out of the ordinary, the characters are really what steal the show and cement it as one of my favourite dramas ever.

If you’ve seen the Taiwanese version, you’d have a good sense of the plot – a one night stand, a pregnancy, a forced marriage, and then, a miscarriage. Cue angst with a capital ‘a’

"My Lovely Girl" - Episode 2

Washing the dog

RECAP
Se Na, having been fired from her hotel job, goes and gets another job at a lunch place, delivering take-out on a scooter. During a delivery, she runs into Shi Woo and spurns his advances. Hyun Wook continually calls her for take-out, having bought a house in Seoul. Both of them, of course, know this is a ruse to see her every day, leading to some funny and charming scenes. Hae Yoon hits on Hyun Wook during a housewarming party, but he just assumes she"s drunk and pushes her away.

That night, Hyun Wook sees Se Na getting chased by thugs. Trying to help her escape, he saves her from getting mowed down by a truck with an improperly set parking brake. She gets fired because the thugs come by the shop, too, so Hyun Wook hires Se Na to be his dog sitter

It’s Okay, That’s Love, Episodes 5-8: Couples, Consent and Coitus Written by Alolika On September 19, 2014

“They did it! They did it! They did it!! Yeah!”

But I am not rejoicing because “it” – my juvenile euphemism for “sex” – was the most anticlimactic resolution to Hae-soo’s (Gong Hyo-jin) sexual anxiety (no pun intended). However, before I get down to the issues I have with the eighth episode in particular, let me broadly outline the problems the narrative is developing as the show continues (or considering my delay, the show has continued).

What felt like a strained connection between the two focuses of the drama – psychiatry and love – is now at one level, completely wrenched apart and at another level, intermingled with the purpose of sentimentalization

3 Taiwanese Dramas That Need Korean Remakes Stat

3 Taiwanese Dramas That Need Korean Remakes Stat Written by Lo On September 18, 2014

Everything has a secret, even K-pop and the world it opens for people. Korean music leads to Korean dramas. Appearances in Japan introduce fans to J-pop and anime. Anime leads to manga and J-dramas. Of course, you can start with any of those things and find your way around that whole web. But there’s one thing that often eludes fans, an island unto itself, cut off from the Hallyu wave: Taiwan. More specifically, Taiwanese dramas.

Taiwan has as long a history with dramas as Korea but has tended to import rather than export entertainment. The result is a entertainment culture that has been influenced by other cultures and has evolved as a result but hasn’t influenced those same cultures in return. Thus, T-dramas have a different set of usual mores and rules — college settings far outpace high schools, tones are closer to reality, and they’re far more risqué — than Korean ones

Before Seol Nae Il, there was the beloved quirky character Nodame.

On September 18, production company Group 8 released a photo featuring Japanese actress Ueno Juri, who shot to fame after her portrayal of Nodame in the drama "Nodame Cantabile," and her Korean counterpart Shim Eun Kyung, who will be portraying the pianist Seol Nae Il.

In a previous interview, Ueno Juri expressed that she was excited about Shim Eun Kyung, saying, "I learned that she"s the same as when I did "Nodame," and that it"s also her first time to be a drama lead. Being in a similar situation as I was back then, I hope she also enjoys being in the drama, and become successful."

Meanwhile, following the release of Joo Won and Shim Eun Kyung"s character posters as the genius student-conductor Cha Yoo Jin and eccentric piano student Seol Nae Il, respectively, a set of behind-the-scenes pictures during their first filming for the drama were also released

“Yuna”s Street” Yoo Geon and Kim Ok-bin have a meeting

By in News posted Oct September 18th, 2014 No comments

Yoo Geon appeared in the JTBC drama "Yuna"s Street" last week as Yuna"s (Kim Ok-bin) first love Tae-sik. He appeared messy and untidy with his ruffled hair and unshaved beard, as he was a recent prisoner who"d just gotten out.

Yoo Geon didn"t seem awkward at all with Kim Ok-bin and that"s thanks to the 2006 drama "Hello, God" where they starred as a couple. They used the little time that they had to bring out Yuna"s story.

Yuna is going to end up holding hands with Yoo Geon and getting herself into a dangerous deal. Yuna drew a line with him saying she was only going to help him out once but this act foresaw making things unstable with Kim Chang-man (Lee Hee-joon).

Meanwhile, "Yuna"s Street" is a story about a woman who is a thief, meeting a man who is nicer than no other and embracing each other"s wounds

As K-Drama fans, we instantly recognize a couple of favorite faces and big names. These are the acting royalty, making up the top tier of Korea"s version of Hollywood, constantly being casted and re-casted as protagonists and basking in the spotlight on our TV/computer screens.

Who are the up-and-coming actors that we can expect to reign in the future? The current princes who can claim the future vacant thrones.

Last time, allkpop rounded up a list of 7 top actresses and their second generation counterparts. Now, here are some of allkpop"s choices for 7 K-Drama Kings and their successors
