Kim Woo Bin Kicks Off His Asia Tour in Hong Kong

Actor Kim Woo Bin successfully finished his first fan meeting in Hong Kong, his first stop for his Asia tour.

On February 16, Kim Woo Bin met with 1,700 fans at the Sunshine City Plaza in Hong Kong.

Prior to the fan meeting, many fans crowded the Hong Kong airport to welcome and to get a glimpse of the actor. Many local mass media outlets were present at his arrival. The fan meeting venue was filled with Kim Woo Bin’s fans that came to see him and meet him in person.

During the fan meeting Kim Woo Bin shared what he’s been up to since the conclusion of “The Heirs.” He also blew out the candles on a cake his fans made for him.

Tickets to Kim Woo Bin’s fan meeting in Taiwan went on sale on the same day. The tickets sold out in five minutes affirming Kim Woo Bin as an Asian superstar

Jessica and Krystal in Talks to Star in Their Own Reality Show

Girls’ Generation’s Jessica and f(x)’s Krystal, also known as the Jung sisters, are in talks to star in a reality program together.

According to an industry insider on February 10, Jessica and Krystal are in talks with cable channel, OnStyle, for a new show with the working title “Jung Sisters Project.” The show will show the real lives of the two sisters, and it will be their first joint project since their debut.

In connection to “Jung Sisters Project,” a representative of OnStyle stated, “It is true we are in talks of the reality show, but as of now, nothing has been confirmed.” A representative of SM Entertainment also stated, “Nothing has been decided.”

Meanwhile, Jessica debuted under SM Entertainment as a member of Girls’ Generation in August 2007

Park Shin Hye Has Over 5 Million Followers on Weibo

Hallyu actress Park Shin Hye has over 5 million followers on Weibo, the Chinese version of Twitter.

As of February 7 at 9 AM KST, Park Shin Hye’s Weibo attracted 5,406, 667 followers. Through her roles in various dramas including, “You’re Beautiful,” “Fabulous Boys,” and “The Heirs,” the actress is receiving much love and support from fans abroad.

Reaching 5 million followers on Weibo is a first by a Korean actress. Considering “The Heirs” has not yet been officially broadcasted in China, it is predicted the number of followers will increase.

A rep from Park Shin Hye’s agency, S.A.L.T. Entertainment, remarked, “We are thankful to all the fans in China. We believe Park Shin Hye’s effort to connect directly with fans through various SNS sites is reaching fans domestically and internationally

February Music Trends in Korea: Where Have the Idols Gone?

The charts are flush with movie and drama OST tracks, indie band offerings, as well as releases from solo singer-songwriters. The February music charts so far feature a diversity of genres and musicians, leaving one wondering if the idol chart domination of music charts is a thing of the past?

“Let It Go” hit the charts shortly after the release of animated Disney movie Frozen, and has ranked highly on music charts since, along with other songs from the OST. The track is Elsa’s theme song in the movie and Idina Menzel’s original has attracted countless covers, a sign of the song’s staying power

Jun Su Jin to Act as Song Ji Hyo’s Sister on ‘Emergency Couple’

Jun Su Jin will be acting as Song Ji Hyo’s younger sister starting from the 5th episode of tvN’s Emergency Couple.

The starlet has previously acted in SBS’s The Heirs, KBS2’s School 2013 and movie Hot Young Bloods, becoming one of the rising young stars.

In Emergency Couple, Jun Su Jin will take the role of Oh Jin Ae, a single mom and a musician, who runs away from the house with the hatred towards her mom who favors her older sister, Oh Jin Hee (Song Ji Hyo).

Park Shin Hye’s Followers on Weibo Reach 5 Million

Park Shin Hye’s Chinese SNS Weibo has over 5 million followers.

A rep from S.A.L.T Entertainment, the actress’s agency, announced on February 7, “She has over 5 million followers on Chinese social networking service, Weibo, which is the first time for any Korean actress. The exact number of followers is 5,398,000, but the number is expected to rise.”

Park Shin Hye joined in the group of hallyu stars by starring in dramas You’re Beautiful, Heartstrings and The Heirs. Her recent hit The Heirs received over 900 million views on Youku, bringing about another round of hallyu wave in the country.

S.A.L.T Entertainment rep stated, “We appreciate her Chinese fans’ support and interest in her. We think that fans highly regard her desire to communicate with fans through SNS like Weibo and Twitter, sharing her moments in various projects

7-Man Lineup for Kim Woo Bin’s “The Technicians” Confirmed

The movie “The Technicians” has finalized its main cast, including actors Kim Woo Bin and Lee Hyun Woo and will move into filming in March.

Production company Trinity Entertainment confirmed the casting for its follow-up movie to “Friend 2,” “The Technicians.” The movie will star Kim Woo Bin, Lee Hyun Woo, Go Chang Suk, Jo Dal Hwan, Kim Young Chul, Shin Gu and Im Joo Hwan.

On January 27, SidusHQ revealed that Kim Woo Bin held a fan club meeting inauguration for about 3,000 members of “Woori Bin” on January 25 at Sangmyung Art Center in Seoul.

Actors Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye have had to come out again to official deny that they are dating as Chinese media reports that the two are in a romantic relationship gained traction recently. Various reports stated that Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye have been dating for about two months, after their drama “The Heirs” ended, but no pictures or other specific evidence were provided to support such claims.

Lee Min Ho’s agency stated to various local and Chinese media sources that the report was untrue. To TV Report specifically, it stated, “We don’t know why this type of report came out in China. We are taking steps [to handle the situation] through our Chinese agent.”

Park Shin Hye’s agency also stated to Metro News, “It’s a baseless story. It seems to be a rumor coming out because of the high popularity of the drama [in China]

Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye’s agencies strongly denied the recent scandal that broke out in China.

Park Shin Hye’s agency, S.A.L.T Entertainment, told enews on January 27, “That rumor is not based on any sound evidence. We think that was just a rumor that spread due to the popularity of The Heirs.”

Lee Min Ho’s agency, Starhaus Entertainment, also stated, “That is definitely not true. We are at a loss for words by the fact that they would write such a report not based on any facts.”

A Chinese press reported on January 26, that the two who acted as lovers in SBS’s The Heirs became real lovers and have been dating secretly for the past two months.
