Answer Me 1994: Episode 17 recap by Drama Beans: “Love, Fear Part 2: Answer Me 1997″

In 2013, Haitai wonders where Binggeure went, to which Yoon-jin asks, “Can’t you guess?” Haitai can but we can’t, since we’re being kept in the dark. Thanks for that, drama.

Back to May of 1997, where post-bus-accident Garbage now has his arm in a sling and his neck in a brace. That’s what you get for messing with fangirls, dude. He assures Na-jung over the phone that he’s totally fine, and his friend Min-jung raises an eyebrow at the obvious lie. He makes sure that Na-jung is coming down tomorrow for her birthday, and it’s sweet how much he clearly wants to see her, busy schedule and practicality be damned

Beautiful Man/Pretty Man (Bel Ami) Episode 5 Recap

By in Drama Recap posted Oct December 16th, 2013 No comments

I did it again, I put myself on a ship that will never set sail. It's a sad day when I love David to bits, but know he will always be friend zoned by Bo Tong. I hope he gets a happy ending, someone this sweet needs someone who will truly like him and all his quirkiness. I also have to say how gorgeous Han Chae Young is in this drama.

Episode 5 Recap by k-dramacentral: Ma Te and Yu Ra are inside drinking coffee and he wonders who made her cry. She asks him how it was spending all that time without his father. She tells him that Hong Ran is planning on sending her 6 year old daughter abroad to study. He just says Hong Ran is scary while Yu Ra apologizes for making him worry, but she had no where else to go. Ma Te tells her that he'll find both of their places soon and gets up to give her more coffee

One Warm Word Episode 1 Recap by Beatuscorner:

After an influx of marriage/affair/divorce dramas this year, my expectation level for SBS newest Mondays & Tuesdays drama One Warm Word (Kind Words) was extremely low. Moreover, the writer’s previous drama Can We Get Married was pretty hard to digest (for me) that I stopped watching on episode 7, it was too realistic for my liking. So I embraced the first episode of One Warm Word with extreme caution (ha!). Surprisingly, the first episode surpassed my expectations – it quickly introduced the main characters and their different perspectives (& approaches) towards marriage, divorce and affairs

Prime Minister and I - Episode 1 Recap by Dramabeans:

Next in the KBS rom-com lineup is Prime Minister and I, whose light and breezy tone took me by surprise. I knew to prepare myself for the cute, but I didn’t expect it to also stir the heartstrings in the first hour. There’s promise and potential in a story that moves fairly quickly that contains both heartwarming and funny notes. And damn, a prime minister has never looked this good.

Even though Prime Minister and I took in last place at 5.9% against its competitors (Empress Ki [♥] led the pack with 20.2% and A Warm Word followed with 6.8%), maybe a contract marriage is just the kind of hijinks medicine I need.

EPISODE 1 RECAP

We open at a banquet hall where preparations are underway, leading up to the arrival of our hero, Prime Minister KWON YUL (Lee Beom-soo) and his wife, NAM DA-JUNG (Yoon-ah), who greet the roomful of dignitaries with a smile

Answer Me 1994 Episode 17 Recap by Dramabeans:

Big things are in store for many of our characters, and a few mysteries are answered for us (though not, of course, the main one. Goodness knows we couldn’t have that). It’s a rewarding hour for those of us who’ve been waiting for concrete movement on multiple fronts, and the payoff is both sweet and a little melancholy, which is pretty much what this series does best.

Answer Me 1994 Episode 16 Recap by Dramabeans:

Crossover episode! Our timeline reaches 1997, which means that the Answer Me 1997 and Answer Me 1994 worlds collide for some meta fun. It’s also Binggeure’s episode to shine, and we get a really welcome glimpse into what life was like for him while we were busy paying attention to everyone else.

EPISODE 16: “Love, Fear: Answer Me 1997″

Dinner arrives at Housewarming Party 2013, and everyone gags at Samcheonpo and Yoon-jin’s show of aegyo spoon-feeding. Haitai wonders how they can still be so cutesy after four kids, while they just challenge him to try it with his wife. He and Na-jung turn to look at each other and shake their heads

When dramas go crazy: Aurora Princess, a case study

By in News posted Oct December 16th, 2013 No comments

We’ve been following the ever-evolving story of Aurora Princess with raised eyebrows for months, as it has become a fixture in the headlines for its parade of shenanigans. And while it’s not the type of drama we’d typically be devoting a lot of attention to, it’s worth looking at if only as the cautionary tale of what not to do when making a show. If ever there were a case of a drama having more drama behind the cameras than in front of them, this would be it.

Aurora Princess is a long-running daily series on MBC and therefore went under our radars at first, but the constant reports of its outrageous behind-the-scenes antics grew too crazy to ignore; it’s the kind of stuff girlfriday and I would send each other with comments like “Omg, can you believe this?” and “What the heck are they smoking over there?” Just when you thought they’d reached some kind of quota on how much lunacy to pile into one production, the drama one-upped itself with fresh insanity

As we have received the files of complaint this afternoon, we will start the investigation next week, starting by investigating IP addresses.”

In response to the filed complaints, Inwoo Entertainment commented, “We also filed charges against the two people who continued to write hateful comments under Jang Yoon Jung’s news articles

Prime Minister and I: Episode 1 RECAP by Drama Beans

We open at a banquet hall where preparations are underway, leading up to the arrival of our hero, Prime Minister KWON YUL (Lee Beom-soo) and his wife, NAM DA-JUNG (Yoon-ah), who greet the roomful of dignitaries with a smile.

But there’s a different story that lies beneath those adoring smiles as the power couple turns to each other… and exchange looks of distaste.

An imagined Matrix style fight scene points to a more tense and hostile relationship between them. And while the world may regard her husband as a respected public figure, our heroine doesn’t share in that opinion because, well, they’re in a contract marriage

Lee Bo Young, Lee Jong Suk Chosen by PDs as Having the Best Drama Luck

By in News posted Oct December 8th, 2013 No comments

2013 is rapidly coming to its inevitable conclusion. This is the time of year where various industry figures take a look back through the year to reflect on the successes and failures of the industry and this year has certainly not being lacking in either categories. But at the very least some industry figures believe that Lee Bo Young and Lee Jong Suk have both had a great year.

To get us started this month, news media outlet “TV Report” has run a survey with 30 producers from the 3 main terrestrial broadcasters (KBS, MBC, SBS) to see which actors/actresses they believed had an almost uncanny ability to pick out great work throughout the year. However as racing driver Jackie Stewart once said, “Good luck in most cases comes through the misfortune of others” and so the survey also asked who the PDs thought had the terrible misfortune of picking out the duds amongst the jewels

He remembers what Dad said to him after the meeting- “Don’t forget this day. You lost that child today as the consequence of the sword you wielded.” Tears start to fall silently out of Tan’s eyes first, but as the sobs rise in his chest, Tan pants for breath and he falls on his knees. He clutches his chest as he cries. Tan walks the streets calling Eun Sang, but the operator is saying the phone number doesn’t exist. Tan weeps, going numb from the pain as he remembers Eun Sang saying bye to him with a smile at the apartment. Tan arrives home and goes to his dad. He tells him that Eun Sang is gone; he can’t find her

Fans from China visited Lee Min Ho at his home in Nonhyun-dong, Seoul as well as followed him on his filming schedule to Gyunggi-do Yang Pyung and Gyunggi-do Ilsan. These fans shadowed the actor day and night traveling in pairs or in small groups through hiring “sasaeng taxis.”

Kdrama Pretty Man: Episode 1 Recap by dramabeans

In a fancy high-rise apartment overlooking the city, a woman dressed to the nines paws hungrily at a man who looks rather bored by the proceedings. This is our titular pretty man DOKKO MATTEI (Jang Geun-seok).

As she unbuttons his shirt, she offers to buy Mattei a car, and he brings the date to a screeching halt. He sighs that she sees him as all the others do—as someone who’ll do anything to get nice things from women.

She hurriedly apologizes for the mistake, but he heads toward the door anyway, and in a last-ditch effort she blurts that she’ll buy him an apartment just like this one. Suddenly he whirls around and gives her a kiss that literally melts her knees, and struts out with a smile on his face

Kdrama Answer Me 1994 Episode 10 Recap by DramaBeans “It might be the last”

It’s 2013, and we’re still watching the neverending wedding video. This time we get as far as the daddy-daughter walk down the aisle, at the end of which Dad has this hilarious kneejerk moment, refusing to hand Na-jung over to the bridegroom(’s stand-in). That’s cute.

Thirty-nine-year-old Na-jung sends her hubby a sly wink across the room, and of course each of our bachelor candidates reacts to it. Is anybody else tired of this one-trick pony joke?

1994. Dad’s baseball team wins the Korean Series, after which he prepares celebratory liquor to drink on their next victory. To which Mom asks, “Who knows when you’ll win again?” LOL.

Na-jung narrates:

“The last time always happens without the realization that it’s the last time

To his fans waiting to see his work, he said, “You can’t rush when selecting a new project. It’s my priority right now, so my fans have no need to worry.

Netizens responded by commenting, “Please make an appearance soon,” “You look good in the photo,” as well as complimented him on his jaw line.
