4 Reasons Why K-Drama Characters Betray Their Friends

News outlet OSEN recently put together a list of reasons why K-drama characters tend to betray their friends.

There are many instances in K-dramas where characters must betray their friends in order to save their family members from trouble. Sometimes their parents will be sick, or their children will be held captive. As the saying goes, blood is thicker than water.

This is when human desires come into play. Its sometimes human nature to want more money and power, but this can turn into a reason for betrayal. [Orion's Drama News] Closing the Investigation

Park your life woes at the door and let them think about what they did, because today I talk drama production problems and the sad cancellation of "Housewife Detective". Fret not, however, as the usual and much happier news of image and video goodies as well as casting announcements are here just like every week.

As strong as the desire of some drama fans to keep our rose-tinted escapism glamorous in our minds may be, the reality of drama production does not change. Things have not turned out well for "Housewife Detective" and while cancellations are normal, it is still a shame to see someone's creative work lose its chances so close to creation. The problems "Housewife Detective" has been faced with have not been revealed, but they ultimately do not matter for fans. May the creators involved better luck in the future.

[HanCinema's Drama Review] "Fantastic"

If there is one thing to say about "Fantastic" is that the drama has bold ideas. Combining the promise of a happy, light series with the premise of its lead dying of cancer is a very daring move, although one Dramaland has not succeeded very well in yet. Still, this drama tries to juggle the illness, romance and a hefty dose of family drama to go with.

Lee So-hye (Kim Hyun-joo) is about to write her most ambitious drama when she is told that she is terminally ill with cancer. So-hye struggles with her illness and a budding romance with Ryoo Hae-seong (Joo Sang-wook), an old acquaintance and terrible star actor who becomes the lead in her drama. As you can tell by the premise, this is a romantic drama at heart, although its desired romantic comedy label is at odds with its premise.
