BTS becomes the first non JYP/YG artist in K-pop to hit 200 million views for a music video

BTS’s “Dope” has joined the exclusive 200 million views club!

After releasing the video a little over two years ago (June 23, 2015), the video has gained over 200 million views and 2 million likes.

“Dope” is arguably the song that launched the group into the stratospherein terms of popularity and success as many media platforms reacted to the video over and over again.

BTS is the first K-pop group outside of JYP Entertainment and YG Entertainment to reach such a feat. The only artists to have reached 200 million views for a music video in K-pop are Big Bang, Psy, Black Pink, and TWICE. Girls’ Generation is close to becoming the first artist from SM Entertainment to reach 200 million views as their “I Got A Boy” MV is currently at 194 million views.
